A handy application that you can use to open serial port connections using a text interface.
QMiniCom is very easy to use and comes with scripting capabilities, hex dump and support for Unicode characters.
This application requires Qt 4.0 or later.

QMiniCom is a universal mini USB programming tool which can be used with almost any development board. The board is placed in the special USB port of the mini USB cable and the computer is connected to the board via a standard mini USB-to-USB cable. You only need to switch on the board and select a program and you are ready to go.

QMiniCom Features:

QMiniCom comes with a preinstalled FLiF driver and also includes the FSG library (2.0) with which you can create your own driver or firmware images.

QMiniCom enables you to connect to a serial port on your computer and get data from it, or transfer files, via a Serial connection.
It can also be used as a TFTP server to allow you to send files to another computer over a serial connection.

With QMiniCom you can connect to a serial port on your computer.
You will be prompted for a connection type, either a pure serial port (PSerial), or a serial port over a network (PSerialOverNetwork) connection.
The connection will be initiated and you will be prompted to enter the port name, baud rate, data bits and parity bits.
The settings can be saved and restored, and you will be prompted to confirm the saving.
You will also be asked for a name for the connection.

The profile can also be saved, and then restored.
You will be prompted to select a profile, and then the settings will be restored to this profile.

The settings can be displayed in a dialog, and you can even edit them directly in this dialog.
If you want, you can also use a serial connection to a virtual COM port, which can be used to connect to another application.

If you select a virtual COM port, you will be prompted to enter the COM port name, baud rate, and parity.
The name of the virtual COM port will be saved, and then the settings will be restored to this name.

QMiniCom is also a very easy to use TFTP server.
You can choose to use the built-in TFTP server or connect to another TFTP server, if you have one running.

When you select a profile, the TFTP server will be started, and will use this profile when it tries to upload files.
If the server has no such profile yet, it will be created.

When you upload a file via TFTP, the file name will be displayed in the dialog, and you can use the “Browse” button to browse for the file to be uploaded.
QMiniCom will then start the transfer and report progress via the dialog.
If the file is too large to upload, you will be prompted with a warning that the file exceeds the size allowed, and then the transfer will be cancelled.
The remaining settings will be stored for this profile, so you can still use them to upload the file to another computer.
If you decide to start the transfer again, QMiniCom will restore the settings.
The settings can be set for both TFTP transfers, and also when you try to connect to a serial port.

If you don’t like the default settings, you can change them in the dialog, either by saving the current settings, or by restoring the previous settings.

QMiniCom supports Unicode.
You can write any Unicode character, including special characters, and you will be prompted
